Mission Statement
Our mission is to assess and remediate the effects of climate change on the Margaree rivers and all its tributaries in order to ensure the long term viability and sustainability of the rivers.
Canadian Heritage River
Designated a Canadian Heritage River in 1998, the Margaree earned its status for both natural beauty and cultural significance. The river valley has deep ties to the Mi’kmaq Nation, early Acadian settlers, and Scottish Highlanders who shaped the region’s identity.
